Paul Shirley

Paul lives in Kansas City, where he records a bi-weekly podcast and works on varied writing projects. From 2005-2010, Paul contributed weekly to ESPN.com, first writing about his stop-and-start basketball career, and then about popular music. His work has also appeared in Esquire magazine and on Slate.com. His first book was published by Random House in 2007.

Since the release of Can I Keep My Jersey?, Paul has created and co-produced a television pilot called The 12th Man for Fox, played for several more basketball teams (one of which owes him money, but he doesn’t want to name names), and listened to Tool’s Lateralus between 56 and 82 times.
